When will GTA 6 be released?
19 November 2026. Rockstar Games announced the date, and it remains the latest valid release date. It was previously delayed twice: from autumn 2025 to 26 May 2026, then to November.

Seventeen questions. One provided source for each.
Answers to the questions people ask most often about GTA 6. Each answer states whether it is official information or an estimate — and when the answer is ‘we don't know’, that is exactly what it says.
Of 18 answers, 12 have been officially confirmed. The rest has yet to be published by anyone – and that’s how it stands.
Release and platforms
Which platforms will the game be released on?
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced any others.

Will GTA 6 be released on PC?
It is not announced, and the extended look of 27 August 2026 did not touch on it either. Rockstar released the PC version of GTA V about eighteen months after the consoles, and Red Dead Redemption 2 roughly a year after. Expecting a similar gap is an estimate based on what the studio did before — not information.

Will it be released on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. The announcement lists only current-generation consoles. Older hardware would not be sufficient for a game of this scale.

How much will the game cost?
Rockstar announced $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. It did not separately state prices in local currencies — those are set by the store you buy from. A conversion from dollars is not an announced price, so we do not quote one here.

Will there be another delay?
We are not predicting one. The only documented fact is that the release has already been delayed twice. Inferring a third delay from that is speculation, not information.
Game and story
Where is GTA 6 set?
In Vice City and the state of Leonida. Leonida is a fictional state inspired by Florida, and Vice City is its largest city.

Who are the main characters?
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Lucia grew up in Liberty City and was sent to prison in the state of Leonida; Jason served in the military and later worked for local drug runners. It is the first time a woman has had a lead role in GTA.
Does GTA 6 continue the story of GTA V?
It has not been announced. The series traditionally tells standalone stories in a shared world, and characters only rarely return between games.

Is the new Vice City the same as it was in 2002?
Only in name. It is the same fictional city, but rebuilt and set in the present day. Tommy Vercetti is not expected to return — the 2002 game was set in the 1980s.

Will the map be twice the size of GTA V's?
According to Rockstar, yes — and more. In interviews around the extended look in August 2026 it said for the first time that the whole map is three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2 and that Vice City alone is twice the size of Los Santos. The studio did not state this in its own materials and has still never given an area in kilometres.

Has GTA 6 changed how sprinting works?
According to a leak, yes — for the first time in the series, sprinting is reportedly done with a single L3 (left-stick) click instead of the 25-year tradition of mashing X/A. The information came from a content creator after a closed Rockstar preview event in early September 2026, not from the studio itself, so it is not even confirmed whether a classic control option will be offered.
Czech Republic and Europe
Will GTA 6 have Czech localisation?
No. The Rockstar Games Store lists 13 supported languages: English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Polish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish (Mexico and Spain), and Portuguese (Brazil). Czech is not among them, just as it was not for GTA V. The closest official options for Czech players therefore remain English and Polish.
Can the game be pre-ordered yet?
Pre-orders have been open since 25 June 2026 — on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, Rockstar's own store and at retailers. Each one includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar issued no separate announcement for individual markets; availability and price are set by the store.

Will the game be available in the Czech Republic without restrictions?
Previous games in the series were sold normally in the Czech Republic. Nothing currently suggests that GTA 6 will be different, but this has not been officially confirmed.

How can I tell what has been verified and what has not?
Every claim has a label. An official announcement, a substantiated report, a leak and speculation carry different weight and are never combined indiscriminately in one sentence. The rumour tracker sets out five levels.
Why do you say that you do not know some things?
Because we don't know. You will not find a missing figure presented as though an estimate were a specification — that is the difference between an overview and guesswork.

Do you want to know more?
The rumour tracker sorts each statement into five levels of confidence. The timeline shows every official announcement and both delays.
