What Follows from this Timeline

There were nearly three years between the first trailer and the announced release date. During this time, the date was pushed back twice, and each time the studio announced it itself – it didn’t leak. For a game of this size, that’s more a good than a bad sign.

The second thing that stands out is that each delay was announced with sufficient advance notice before the original date. There were no last-minute shifts.

That is our interpretation of the timeline, not information from Rockstar.

What is missing from the timeline because nobody announced it

  • A PC version has no announced date and no confirmation that it is coming. Neither the extended look nor the interviews around it mentioned computers at all.
  • A separate online component has no announced date or shape.
  • A performance mode on consoles. Analyses of the recording point to 30 frames per second; Rockstar has not commented.
  • No Czech localisation has been announced.
  • System requirements, editions and local-currency prices have not been officially published.
