Is the Extended Look still on Netflix?
Netflix had it first, but exclusively for only six hours. Since 3 a.m. Central European time on 28 August 2026 the same video has been freely available on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and on the game's website. You do not need a subscription today.
Is it a trailer or something else?
Rockstar called it an “Extended Look”. That fits: against the trailers, which come to under three minutes together, this is twenty-six minutes of continuous gameplay with the interface visible.
Why did it go to Netflix first?
Rockstar did not explain. Variety's reading is that it signals to the entertainment industry that GTA 6 is not just a game but an event on the scale of a film premiere. That is journalists' interpretation, not a studio statement.
Did it pay off?
In numbers, yes. Netflix counted 31.1 million views between 27 and 30 August and the video topped its weekly English-language film chart. Netflix counts views differently from YouTube, though, so the figures cannot be added together.
Does this mean GTA 6 will be playable on Netflix?
No. Netflix has older games in the series in its games catalogue, but nothing of the sort has been announced for GTA 6. This was a video premiere, nothing more.
Did it move the release date?
No. 19 November 2026 stands and Rockstar did not change the date in connection with the presentation. Rob Nelson of Rockstar North told journalists on the same occasion that the game will be released on time.
Will there be another trailer?
Unannounced. It is common for a publisher to release at least one more video before launch, but Rockstar has announced nothing further. When it does, it will appear here with a date and a link.
